²⁵ But now ^(A)I am going to Jerusalem to ^[a]minister to the saints.

¹⁷ “Now after many years ^(A)I came to bring alms and offerings to my nation,

The Riot at Ephesus

^21 (A)When these things were accomplished, Paul ^(B)purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through ^(C)Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, ^(D)I must also see Rome.”

²² And see, now ^(A)I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there,

¹⁶ For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he would not have to spend time in Asia; for ^(A)he was hurrying ^(B)to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on ^(C)the Day of Pentecost.

Collection for the Saints

16 Now concerning ^(A)the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: ^2 (B)On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come. ³ And when I come, ^(C)whomever you approve by your letters I will send to bear your gift to Jerusalem.

²¹ but took leave of them, saying, ^(A)“I^[a] must by all means keep this coming feast in Jerusalem; but I will return again to you, ^(B)God willing.” And he sailed from Ephesus.

¹⁰ They desired only that we should remember the poor, ^(A)the very thing which I also was eager to do.

²⁶ For ^(A)it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem. ²⁷ It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For ^(B)if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, ^(C)their duty is also to minister to them in material things. ²⁸ Therefore, when I have performed this and have sealed to them ^(D)this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain. ^29 (E)But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing ^[a]of the gospel of Christ.

³⁰ Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and ^(F)through the love of the Spirit, ^(G)that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me, ^31 (H)that I may be delivered from those in Judea who ^[b]do not believe, and that ^(I)my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints,
