²⁴ I am planning to go to Spain, and when I do, I will stop off in Rome. And after I have enjoyed your fellowship for a little while, you can provide for my journey.

²⁸ As soon as I have delivered this money and completed this good deed of theirs, I will come to see you on my way to Spain.

¹² When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.

³ The church sent the delegates to Jerusalem, and they stopped along the way in Phoenicia and Samaria to visit the believers. They told them—much to everyone’s joy—that the Gentiles, too, were being converted.

¹⁶ first on my way to Macedonia and again when I returned from Macedonia.^[a] Then you could send me on my way to Judea.

Paul’s Final Instructions

⁵ I am coming to visit you after I have been to Macedonia,^[a] for I am planning to travel through Macedonia. ⁶ Perhaps I will stay awhile with you, possibly all winter, and then you can send me on my way to my next destination. ⁷ This time I don’t want to make just a short visit and then go right on. I want to come and stay awhile, if the Lord will let me.

⁵ When we returned to the ship at the end of the week, the entire congregation, including women^[a] and children, left the city and came down to the shore with us. There we knelt, prayed,

²¹ Afterward Paul felt compelled by the Spirit^[a] to go over to Macedonia and Achaia before going to Jerusalem. “And after that,” he said, “I must go on to Rome!”

⁶ They have told the church here of your loving friendship. Please continue providing for such teachers in a manner that pleases God.
