⁹ For to this end Christ died and lived again, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.^(A)

¹⁸ and the Living One. I was dead, and see, I am alive forever and ever, and I have the keys of Death and of Hades.^(A)

²⁶ Was it not necessary that the Messiah^[a] should suffer these things and then enter into his glory?”^(A)

² looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith, who for the sake of^[a] the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.^(A)

²² The Father judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son,^{(A) 23} so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.^(B)

4 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I solemnly urge you:^(A)

²⁰ God^[a] put this power to work in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,^{[b](A) 21} far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come.^{(B) 22} And he has put all things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the church,^{(C) 23} which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.^(D)

¹⁴ For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died.^(A)
