²¹ It is good neither to eat ^(A)meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles ^[a]or is offended or is made weak.

¹³ Therefore, ^(A)if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.

¹³ Therefore let us not judge one another ^[a]anymore, but rather resolve this, ^(A)not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.

Bearing Others’ Burdens

15 We ^(A)then who are strong ought to bear with the ^[a]scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. ^2 (B)Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to ^[b]edification.

Jesus Warns of Offenses^(A)

17 Then He said to the disciples, ^(B)“It is impossible that no ^[a]offenses should come, but ^(C)woe to him through whom they do come! ² It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should ^[b]offend one of these little ones.

⁷ Woe to the world because of ^[a]offenses! For ^(A)offenses must come, but ^(B)woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

^8 (C)“If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. ⁹ And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into ^[b]hell fire.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep^(D)

¹⁰ “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven ^(E)their angels always ^(F)see the face of My Father who is in heaven.

²³ But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, ^(A)Satan! ^(B)You are ^[a]an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of ^(A)Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, ^(B)to eat things sacrificed to idols, ^(C)and to commit sexual immorality.
