¹⁴ I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who considers it unclean.^(A)

¹⁵ To the pure all things are pure, but to the corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure; their very minds and consciences are corrupted.^(A)

⁴ For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, provided it is received with thanksgiving,^(A)

⁷ It is not everyone, however, who has this knowledge. Since some have become so accustomed to idols until now, they still think of the food they eat as food offered to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.^(A)

² Some believe in eating anything, while the weak eat only vegetables.^(A)

¹⁴ But Peter said, “By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything that is profane or unclean.”^{(A) 15} The voice said to him again, a second time, “What God has made clean, you must not call profane.”^(B)

⁸ But I replied, ‘By no means, Lord, for nothing profane or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ ⁹ But a second time the voice answered from heaven, ‘What God has made clean, you must not call profane.’

¹⁰ For if others see you, who possess knowledge, eating in the temple of an idol, might they not, since their conscience is weak, be encouraged to the point of eating food sacrificed to idols?

²⁸ and he said to them, “You yourselves know that it is improper for a Jew to associate with or to visit an outsider, but God has shown me that I should not call anyone profane or unclean.^(A)

²⁵ Eat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question on the ground of conscience,
