¹⁰ Why do you pass judgment on your brother or sister? Or you, why do you despise your brother or sister? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.^[a](A)

¹⁰ For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive due recompense for actions done in the body, whether good or evil.^(A)

⁵ Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive commendation from God.^(A)

¹⁴ For God will bring every deed into judgment, including^[a] every secret thing, whether good or evil.^(A)

³ Those who eat must not despise those who abstain, and those who abstain must not pass judgment on those who eat, for God has welcomed them. ⁴ Who are you to pass judgment on slaves of another? It is before their own lord that they stand or fall. And they will be upheld, for the Lord^[a] is able to make them stand.

¹⁶ on the day when, according to my gospel, God through Christ Jesus judges the secret thoughts of all.^(A)

The Judgment of the Nations

³¹ “When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.^{(A) 32} All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats,^(B)

The Dead Are Judged

¹¹ Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sat on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his^[a] presence, and no place was found for them.^{(A) 12} And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, as recorded in the books.^{(B) 13} And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and all were judged according to what they had done.^{(C) 14} Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire,^{(D) 15} and anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

¹⁴ It was also about these that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “See, the Lord is coming^[a] with ten thousands of his holy ones,^{(A) 15} to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly^[b] of all the deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

⁴² He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one ordained by God as judge of the living and the dead.^(A)
