Gifts of Grace

³ For ^(A)by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you ^(B)not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, ^(C)each according to ^(D)the measure of faith that God has assigned.

³ For ^(A)if anyone thinks he is something, ^(B)when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

³ Do nothing from ^(A)selfish ambition or ^(B)conceit, but in ^(C)humility count others more significant than yourselves. ⁴ Let each of you ^(D)look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. ^5 (E)Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,^{[a] 6 (F)}who, though he was in ^(G)the form of God, did not count equality with God ^(H)a thing to be grasped,^{[b] 7} but ^(I)emptied himself, by taking the form of a ^(J)servant,^{[c] (K)}being born in the likeness of men. ⁸ And being found in human form, he humbled himself by ^(L)becoming obedient to the point of death, ^(M)even death on a cross.

⁵ Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. ^(A)Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for ^(B)“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

^16 (A)Live in harmony with one another. ^(B)Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.^{[a] (C)}Never be wise in your own sight.

^8 (A)Be sober-minded; ^(B)be watchful. Your ^(C)adversary the devil ^(D)prowls around ^(E)like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

¹⁶ Be not overly righteous, and do not ^(A)make yourself too wise. Why should you destroy yourself?

¹¹ whoever speaks, as one who speaks ^(A)oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves ^(B)by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything ^(C)God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. ^(D)To him belong glory and ^(E)dominion forever and ever. Amen.
