²² Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, ^(A)provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise ^(B)you too will be cut off.

¹⁴ For we have come to share in Christ, ^(A)if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.

⁶ but Christ is faithful over God's house as ^(A)a son. And ^(B)we are his house, if indeed we ^(C)hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.^[a]

² and by which ^(A)you are being saved, if you ^(B)hold fast to the word I preached to you—^(C)unless you believed in vain.

^2 (A)Every branch in me that does not bear fruit ^(B)he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, ^(C)that it may bear more fruit.

^23 (A)Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for ^(B)he who promised is faithful.

⁹ And ^(A)let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, ^(B)if we do not give up.

³⁵ Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has ^(A)a great reward. ³⁶ For ^(B)you have need of endurance, so that ^(C)when you have done the will of God you may ^(D)receive what is promised. ³⁷ For,

³⁹ But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
