^18 (A)do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

²⁰ Well said. Because of ^(A)unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.

Christ Our Cornerstone

¹⁹ Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, ²⁰ having been ^(A)built ^(B)on the foundation of the ^(C)apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being ^(D)the chief cornerstone,

Boasting Excluded

^27 (A)Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith.

¹⁶ And ^(A)other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; ^(B)and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

²⁹ And ^(A)if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s ^(B)seed, and ^(C)heirs according to the promise.

¹⁶ Therefore it is of faith that it might be ^(A)according to grace, ^(B)so that the promise might be ^[a]sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, ^(C)who is the father of us all

The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

⁹ Also He spoke this parable to some ^(A)who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: ¹⁰ “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. ¹¹ The Pharisee ^(B)stood and prayed thus with himself, ^(C)‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

³³ Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are ^[a]made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”
