65 ^(A)I was ready to be sought by ^(B)those who did not ask for me;
    I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me.
I said, “Here I am, here I am,”
    to a nation that was not called by^[a] my name.
^2 (C)I spread out my hands all the day
    to a rebellious people,
who walk in a way that is not good,
    following their own devices;

^4 (A)Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples,
    ^(B)a leader and commander for the peoples.
^5 (C)Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know,
    and ^(D)a nation that did not know you shall run to you,
because of the Lord your God, and of the Holy One of Israel,
    ^(E)for he has glorified you.

⁶ he says:
“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
    to raise up the tribes of Jacob
    and to bring back the preserved of Israel;
^(A)I will make you ^(B)as a light for the nations,
    that ^(C)my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”
