¹⁰ For one believes^[a] with the heart, leading to righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, leading to salvation.

¹⁵ God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God.^(A)

⁹ because^[a] if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe^[b] in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.^(A)

¹⁶ yet we know that a person is justified^[a] not by the works of the law but through the faith of Jesus Christ.^[b] And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by the faith of Christ^[c] and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law.^(A)

¹² But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God,^{(A) 13} who were born, not of blood or of the will of the flesh or of the will of man, but of God.^(B)

²² let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.^(A)

¹⁹ And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.^{(A) 20} For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed.^{(B) 21} But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.”^[a](C)

¹⁵ But as for that in the good soil, these are the ones who, when they hear the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart and bear fruit with endurance.

¹² Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you may have an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

¹³ “I know where you are living, where Satan’s throne is. Yet you are holding fast to my name, and you did not deny your faith in me^[a] even in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan lives.
