⁴ and was declared to be Son of God with power according to the spirit^[a] of holiness by resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,^(A)

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit^[a] offered himself without blemish to God, purify our^[b] conscience from dead works to worship the living God!^(A)

⁵ So also Christ did not glorify himself in becoming a high priest but was appointed by^[a] the one who said to him,

⁶ as he says also in another place,

¹⁹ and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his great power. ²⁰ God^[a] put this power to work in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,^{[b](A) 21} far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come.^{(B) 22} And he has put all things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the church,^{(C) 23} which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.^(D)

⁴ For he was crucified in weakness but lives by the power of God. For we are weak in him,^[a] but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God.^(A)

³³ he has fulfilled for us, their children,^[a] by raising Jesus; as also it is written in the second psalm,

³⁴ “As to his raising him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he has spoken in this way,

³⁵ “Therefore he has also said in another psalm,

²¹ because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.^[a](A)

¹¹ inquiring about the time and circumstances^[a] that the Spirit of Christ within them indicated when it testified in advance to the sufferings intended for Christ and the subsequent glory.^(A)

³ the gospel concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh^(A)
