¹⁷ For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith, as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”^[a](A)

¹¹ Now it is evident that no one is reckoned as righteous before God by the law, for “the one who is righteous will live by faith.”^[a](A)

⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law but one that comes through faith in Christ,^[a] the righteousness from God based on faith.^(A)

Israel’s Unbelief

³⁰ What then are we to say? Gentiles, who did not strive for righteousness, have attained it, that is, righteousness through faith,^(A)

²¹ But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been disclosed and is attested by the Law and the Prophets,^(A)

⁶ And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would approach God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. ⁷ By faith Noah, warned by God about events as yet unseen, respected the warning and built an ark to save his household; by this he condemned the world and became an heir to the righteousness that is in accordance with faith.^(A)

³ What if some were unfaithful? Will their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God?^(A)

³⁶ Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life but must endure God’s wrath.^(A)
