¹⁵ hence my eagerness to proclaim the gospel to you also who are in Rome.

²⁰ Thus I make it my ambition to proclaim the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, so that I do not build on someone else’s foundation,^(A)

¹⁷ For if I do this of my own will, I have a wage, but if not of my own will, I am entrusted with a commission.^(A)

¹⁵ We do not boast beyond limits, that is, in the labors of others, but our hope is that, as your faith increases, our field among you may be greatly enlarged, ¹⁶ so that we may proclaim the good news^[a] in lands beyond you, without boasting of work already done in someone else’s field.

¹³ Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”^(A)

⁸ She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for its burial.^(A)

³⁸ therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

⁸ Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I; send me!”^(A)

¹⁸ But the Lord said to my father David, ‘You did well to consider building a house for my name;

¹² For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.^(A)
