3 For (A)what the Law could not do, [a](B)weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in (C)the likeness of [b]sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 so that the (D)requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us who (E)do not walk [c]according to the flesh but [d]according to the Spirit.

3 For what the law was powerless(A) to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[a](B) God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh(C) to be a sin offering.[b](D) And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement(E) of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.(F)

13 Therefore did that which is good become a cause of death for me? [a](B)Far from it! Rather it was sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin by bringing about my death through that which is good, so that through the commandment sin would become utterly sinful.

14 For we know that the Law is (C)spiritual, but I am (D)fleshly, (E)sold [b](F)into bondage to sin.
