⁸ But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment,^(A) produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead.^(B)

¹¹ For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment,^(A) deceived me,^(B) and through the commandment put me to death.

⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin,^(A) and the power of sin is the law.^(B)

¹⁵ because the law brings wrath.^(A) And where there is no law there is no transgression.^(B)

¹⁴ but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own^(A) evil desire and enticed. ¹⁵ Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;^(B) and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.^(C)
