18 do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that (A)it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. 19 (B)You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you (C)stand by your faith. (D)Do not be conceited, but fear; 21 for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. 22 See then the kindness and severity of God: to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s (E)kindness, (F)if you continue in His kindness; for otherwise you too (G)will be cut off. 23 And they also, (H)if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in; for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?

25 For (I)I do not want you, brothers and sisters, to be uninformed of this (J)mystery—so that you will not be (K)wise in your own estimation—that a partial (L)hardening has happened to Israel until the (M)fullness of the Gentiles has come in; 26 and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written:

(N)The Deliverer will come from Zion,
He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.”
27 (O)This is [a]My covenant with them,
(P)When I take away their sins.”

28 In relation to the gospel they are (Q)enemies on your account, but in relation to God’s choice they are beloved (R)on account of the fathers; 29 for the gifts and the (S)calling of God (T)are irrevocable.

18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.(A) 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith.(B) Do not be arrogant,(C) but tremble.(D) 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.

22 Consider therefore the kindness(E) and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue(F) in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.(G) 23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.(H) 24 After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree,(I) how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!

All Israel Will Be Saved

25 I do not want you to be ignorant(J) of this mystery,(K) brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited:(L) Israel has experienced a hardening(M) in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in,(N) 26 and in this way[a] all Israel will be saved.(O) As it is written:

“The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27 And this is[b] my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”[c](P)

28 As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies(Q) for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,(R) 29 for God’s gifts and his call(S) are irrevocable.(T)

18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.

29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
