¹⁰ For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, it is even more certain that, since we have been reconciled, we will be saved by his life.

¹⁶ And he did this to reconcile both to God in one body through the cross by putting the hostility to death on it.^[a]

Reconciled Through Christ’s Death

²¹ At one time, you were alienated from God and hostile in your thinking as expressed through your evil deeds.

²² But now Christ reconciled you in his body of flesh through death, in order to present you holy, blameless, and faultless before him—
