Romans 14:8

⁸For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

New International Version

⁸If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.^(A)

⁹For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

⁹For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life^(A) so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.^(B)
