7 After this I saw four angels stationed at the four corners of the earth, [a]firmly holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind should blow on the earth or sea or upon any tree.(A)
2 Then I saw a second angel coming up from the east (the rising of the sun) and carrying the seal of the living God. And with a loud voice he called out to the four angels who had been given authority and power to injure earth and sea,
3 Saying, Harm neither the earth nor the sea nor the trees, until we have sealed the bond servants of our God upon their foreheads.(B)
4 And [then] I heard how many were sealed (marked) out of every tribe of the sons of Israel: there were 144,000.
5 Twelve thousand were sealed (marked) out of the tribe of Judah, 12,000 of the tribe of Reuben, 12,000 of the tribe of Gad,
6 Twelve thousand of the tribe of Asher, 12,000 of the tribe of Naphtali, 12,000 of the tribe of Manasseh,
7 Twelve thousand of the tribe of Simeon, 12,000 of the tribe of Levi, 12,000 of the tribe of Issachar,
8 Twelve thousand of the tribe of Zebulun, 12,000 of the tribe of Joseph, 12,000 of the tribe of Benjamin.
9 After this I looked and a vast host appeared which no one could count, [gathered out] of every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages. These stood before the throne and before the Lamb; they were attired in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.
10 In loud voice they cried, saying, [Our] salvation is due to our God, Who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb [to Them we owe our deliverance]!
11 And all the angels were standing round the throne and round the elders [[b]of the heavenly Sanhedrin] and the four living creatures, and they fell prostrate before the throne and worshiped God.
12 Amen! (So be it!) they cried. Blessing and glory and majesty and splendor and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and might [be ascribed] to our God to the ages and ages (forever and ever, throughout the eternities of the eternities)! Amen! (So be it!)
13 Then, addressing me, one of the elders [[c]of the heavenly Sanhedrin] said, Who are these [people] clothed in the long white robes? And from where have they come?
14 I replied, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation (persecution), and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.(C)
15 For this reason they are [now] before the [very] throne of God and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary (temple); and He Who is sitting upon the throne will protect and spread His tabernacle over and shelter them with His presence.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun smite them, nor any [d]scorching heat.(D)
17 For the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.(E)

7 Poi vidi quattro angeli, in piedi ai quattro angoli del mondo, che trattenevano i quattro venti dalla terra, perché non tirasse vento né sulla terra, né sulle piante, né sul mare. 2 E vidi un altro angelo che veniva da Est e portava il grande sigillo del Dio vivente. Egli gridò con voce possente agli altri quattro angeli, che avevano ricevuto il potere di devastare la terra e il mare: 3 «Aspettate! Non fate ancora niente! Non danneggiate né la terra, né il mare, né le piante, finché non avremo messo il sigillo di Dio in fronte ai suoi servitori!»
4-8 Quanti furono segnati con questo marchio? Udii un numero: centoquarantaquattromila, di tutte le tribù di Israele. Eccone lʼelenco:

9 Dopo di ciò ecco apparire una folla immensa, che nessuno avrebbe mai potuto contare: erano persone di ogni nazione, razza, popolo e lingua, che stavano di fronte al trono e allʼAgnello. Erano vestite di bianco e tenevano in mano dei rami di palma. 10 Essi gridavano ad alta voce: «La salvezza appartiene al nostro Dio, che siede sul trono, e allʼAgnello!»
11 E tutti gli angeli, che stavano in piedi intorno al trono, gli anziani e le quattro creature viventi, si prostrarono davanti al trono con la faccia a terra e adorarono Dio, dicendo: 12 «Amen! Lode, gloria, sapienza, riconoscenza, onore, potenza e forza al nostro Dio per i secoli eterni! Amen».
13 Allora uno dei ventiquattro anziani mi chiese: «Sai chi sono quelli là vestiti di bianco? E da dove vengono?»
14 «No, Signore», risposi, «tu lo sai meglio di me!» Allora egli mi spiegò:
«Sono quelli che vengono dalla grande tribolazione. Portano vesti candide, perché le hanno lavate nel sangue dellʼAgnello. 15 Per questo sono qui davanti al trono di Dio e lo servono giorno e notte nel suo tempio. E Dio che siede sul trono li terrà sempre sotto la sua protezione. 16 Non avranno più fame, né sete, e saranno protetti dal sole cocente e dallʼarsura. 17 Perché lʼAgnello, che sta davanti al trono, sarà il loro pastore e li condurrà alle sorgenti dellʼacqua che dà la vita. E Dio asciugherà dai loro occhi tutte le lacrime».

7 इसके बाद धरती के चारों कोनों पर चार स्वर्गदूतों को मैंने खड़े देखा। धरती की चारों हवाओं को रोक के रखा था ताकि धरती पर, सागर पर अथवा वृक्षों पर उनमें से किसी पर भी हवा चल ना पाये। 2 फिर मैंने देखा कि एक और स्वर्गदूत है जो पूर्व दिशा से आ रहा है। उसने सजीव परमेश्वर की मुहर ली हुई थी। तथा वह उन चारों स्वर्गदूतों से जिन्हें धरती और आकाश को नष्ट कर देने का अधिकार दिया गया था, ऊँचे स्वर में पुकार कर कह रहा था, 3 “जब तक हम अपने परमेश्वर के सेवकों के माथे पर मुहर नहीं लगा देते, तब तक तुम धरती, सागर और वृक्षों को हानि मत पहुँचाओ।”
4 फिर जिन लोगों पर मुहर लगाई गई थी, मैंने उनकी संख्या सुनी। वे एक लाख चवालीस हज़ार थे। जिन पर मुहर लगाई गई थी, इस्राएल के सभी परिवार समूहों से थे:

विशाल भीड़
9 इसके बाद मैंने देखा कि मेरे सामने एक विशाल भीड़ खड़ी थी जिसकी गिनती कोई नहीं कर सकता था। इस भीड़ में हर जाति के हर वंश के, हर कुल के तथा हर भाषा के लोग थे। वे उस सिंहासन और उस मेमने के आगे खड़े थे। वे श्वेत वस्त्र पहने थे और उन्होंने अपने हाथों में खजूर की टहनियाँ ली हुई थीं। 10 वे पुकार रहे थे, “सिंहासन पर विराजमान हमारे परमेश्वर की जय हो और मेमने की जय हो।”
11 सभी स्वर्गदूत सिंहासन प्राचीनों और उन चारों प्राणियों को घेरे खड़े थे। सिंहासन के सामने दण्डवत प्रणाम करके इन स्वर्गदूतों ने परमेश्वर की उपासना की। 12 उन्होंने कहा, “आमीन! हमारे परमेश्वर की स्तुति, महिमा, विवेक, धन्यवाद, समादर, शक्ति और बल सदा-सर्वदा होते रहें। आमीन!”[a]
13 तभी उन प्राचीनों में से किसी ने मुझसे प्रश्न किया, “ये श्वेत वस्त्रधारी लोग कौन हैं तथा ये कहाँ से आए हैं?”
14 मैंने उसे उत्तर दिया, “मेरे प्रभु तू तो जानता ही है।”
इस पर उसने मुझसे कहा, “ये वे लोग हैं जो कठोर यातनाओं के बीच से होकर आ रहे हैं उन्होंने अपने वस्त्रों को मेमने के लहू से धोकर स्वच्छ एवं उजला किया है। 15 इसलिए अब ये परमेश्वर के सिंहासन के सामने खड़े तथा उसके मन्दिर में दिन रात उसकी उपासना करते हैं। वह जो सिंहासन पर विराजमान है उनमें निवास करते हुए उनकी रक्षा करेगा। 16 न कभी उन्हें भूख सताएगी और न ही वे फिर कभी प्यासे रहेंगे। सूरज उनका कुछ नहीं बिगाड़ेगा और न ही चिलचिलाती धूप कभी उन्हें तपाएगी। 17 क्योंकि वह मेमना जो सिंहासन के बीच में है उनकी देखभाल करेगा। वह उन्हें जीवन देने वाले जल स्रोतों के पास ले जाएगा और परमेश्वर उनकी आँखों के हर आँसू को पोंछ देगा।”
