The 144,000 of Israel Sealed

7 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back ^(A)the four winds of the earth, ^(B)that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree. ² Then I saw another angel ascending ^(C)from the rising of the sun, with ^(D)the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea, ³ saying, ^(E)“Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God ^(F)on their foreheads.” ⁴ And ^(G)I heard the number of the sealed, 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:

^9 (A)And on that day ^(B)I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Him Whom They Have Pierced

¹⁰ “And ^(C)I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and ^(D)pleas for mercy, so that, ^(E)when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, ^(F)they shall mourn for him, ^(G)as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn. ^11 (H)On that day ^(I)the mourning in Jerusalem will be as great ^(J)as the mourning for Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. ¹² The land shall mourn, ^(K)each family^[a] by itself: the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of ^(L)Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves; ¹³ the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of ^(M)the Shimeites by itself, and their wives by themselves; ¹⁴ and all the families that are left, each by itself, and their wives by themselves.

13 ^(N)“On that day there shall be ^(O)a fountain opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and uncleanness.
