7 And when He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the (A)fourth living creature saying, “Come.” 8 Then I looked, and behold, a (B)pale horse; and he who sits on it had the name (C)Death, and (D)Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, (E)to kill with sword and with famine and with [a]pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

And its rider was named Death, and the Grave[b] followed closely behind him. They were given power over a quarter of the earth, to kill people with the sword, with famine, with death, and by the wild animals of the earth.
