O trono no céu
4 Depois disto olhei e vi uma porta aberta no céu. E a primeira voz que ouvi, semelhante ao toque de uma trombeta, falou comigo e disse: “Sobe aqui e eu te mostrarei o que há de acontecer no futuro.” 2 E logo me encontrei em espírito no céu e ali, diante dos meus olhos, deparei com um trono e alguém sentado sobre ele. 3 E jorravam cintilações daquele que estava sentado no trono, como de um diamante ou de um rubi, e um arco-íris fulgurante como uma esmeralda envolvia esse trono. 4 E outros vinte e quatro tronos estavam à volta do primeiro, e vinte e quatro anciãos se sentavam neles, todos vestidos de branco com coroas de ouro nas suas cabeças. 5 E saíam relâmpagos e trovões do trono e misturados com eles ouviam-se vozes. Diante do trono estavam sete fachos acesos, que são os sete espíritos de Deus. 6 Na parte da frente do trono estendia-se um mar de vidro cuja superfície brilhava como cristal.
Diante e em volta do trono havia quatro seres viventes, cheios de olhos à frente e atrás. 7 O primeiro desses seres tinha a forma de um leão; o segundo parecia um bezerro; o terceiro tinha o rosto de um homem; e o quarto a forma de uma águia, com as asas abertas como se estivesse a voar. 8 Cada um destes seres viventes tinha seis asas e estavam totalmente cobertos de olhos, mesmo debaixo das asas. E de dia e de noite, sem descanso, diziam:
“Santo, santo, santo
é o Senhor Deus, que tem todo o poder,
que era, que é, e que há de vir.”[a]
9 E quando os seres viventes davam glória, honra e graças àquele que está sentado no trono e que vive para todo o sempre, 10 os vinte e quatro anciãos lançaram-se aos seus pés e adoraram esse cuja vida não tem limite de tempo, e lançaram as suas coroas diante do trono dizendo:
11 “Tu, nosso Senhor e nosso Deus,
és digno de receber glória, honra e poder
porque criaste todas as coisas.
É por tua vontade que elas existem.”

4 Depois disso, olhei e havia diante de mim uma porta aberta no céu. E a voz, que parecia como o som de uma trombeta, e que eu tinha ouvido falando comigo antes, disse:
—Suba aqui e lhe mostrarei o que deve acontecer depois destas coisas. 2 Imediatamente o Espírito tomou conta de mim. Havia diante de mim no céu um trono, com alguém sentado nele. 3 Aquele que estava sentado tinha a aparência brilhante das pedras de jaspe e de sardônio. Ao redor do trono havia um arco-íris que brilhava como uma esmeralda. 4 Ao redor do trono havia também vinte e quatro tronos e neles estavam sentados vinte e quatro líderes, vestidos de branco e com coroas de ouro na cabeça. 5 Do trono saíam relâmpagos, barulhos e trovões. Diante do trono havia sete tochas de fogo, que são os sete espíritos de Deus. 6 Diante do trono havia algo parecido com um mar de vidro, claro como o cristal.
Bem em frente do trono e à volta do trono havia quatro seres viventes cheios de olhos, na frente e atrás. 7 O primeiro ser vivente parecia um leão, o segundo parecia um boi, o terceiro tinha o rosto de um homem e o quarto parecia uma águia[a] de asas abertas. 8 Os quatro seres viventes tinham seis asas cada um e estavam cheios de olhos por dentro e ao redor e não paravam de repetir dia e noite:
“Santo, Santo, Santo é o Senhor Deus, o Todo-Poderoso,
aquele que era, que é e que virá”.
9 Cada vez que os seres viventes davam glória, honra e graças àquele que está sentado no trono e que vive para sempre, 10 os vinte e quatro líderes se prostravam diante daquele que está sentado no trono e adoravam aquele que vive para sempre. Eles colocavam as suas coroas diante do trono e diziam:
11 “Senhor e Deus nosso!
O Senhor é digno de receber
a glória, a honra e o poder,
pois o Senhor criou todas as coisas.
Sim, foi por causa da sua vontade
que elas vieram a existir e foram criadas”.

The Throne in Heaven
4 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open(A) in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet(B) said, “Come up here,(C) and I will show you what must take place after this.”(D) 2 At once I was in the Spirit,(E) and there before me was a throne in heaven(F) with someone sitting on it. 3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper(G) and ruby.(H) A rainbow(I) that shone like an emerald(J) encircled the throne. 4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders.(K) They were dressed in white(L) and had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder.(M) In front of the throne, seven lamps(N) were blazing. These are the seven spirits[a](O) of God. 6 Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass,(P) clear as crystal.
In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures,(Q) and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back.(R) 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle.(S) 8 Each of the four living creatures(T) had six wings(U) and was covered with eyes all around,(V) even under its wings. Day and night(W) they never stop saying:
9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne(Z) and who lives for ever and ever,(AA) 10 the twenty-four elders(AB) fall down before him(AC) who sits on the throne(AD) and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

4 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing (B)open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a (C)trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”
2 Immediately (D)I was in the Spirit; and behold, (E)a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. 3 [a]And He who sat there was (F)like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; (G)and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. 4 (H)Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, (I)clothed in white [b]robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 And from the throne proceeded (J)lightnings, [c]thunderings, and voices. (K)Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are (L)the[d] seven Spirits of God.
6 Before the throne there [e]was (M)a sea of glass, like crystal. (N)And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. 7 (O)The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 The four living creatures, each having (P)six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:
9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, (T)who lives forever and ever, 10 (U)the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:
11 “You(V) are worthy, [g]O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
(W)For You created all things,
And by (X)Your will they [h]exist and were created.”
