¹⁴ “Blessed are those who wash their robes,^(A) that they may have the right to the tree of life^(B) and may go through the gates^(C) into the city.^(D)

²⁷ Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful,^(A) but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.^(B)

³ In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands.^(A) And his commands are not burdensome,^(B)

⁷ “Look, I am coming soon!^(A) Blessed^(B) is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”^(C)

²³ And this is his command: to believe^(A) in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ,^(B) and to love one another as he commanded us.^{(C) 24} The one who keeps God’s commands^(D) lives in him,^(E) and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.^(F)

³ All who have this hope in him purify themselves,^(A) just as he is pure.^(B)

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

¹⁵ “If you love me, keep my commands.^(A)

¹⁹ Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing.^(A) Keeping God’s commands is what counts.
