19 And I saw (A)the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies (B)gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. 20 And the beast was captured, and with it (C)the false prophet (D)who in its presence[a] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who (E)worshiped its image. These two were (F)thrown alive into the lake of (G)fire that burns with sulfur. 21 And the rest were slain by the sword (H)that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and (I)all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

The Thousand Years

20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, (J)holding in his hand the key to (K)the bottomless pit[b] and a great chain. And he seized (L)the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and (M)bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into (N)the pit, and shut it and (O)sealed it over him, so that (P)he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.

Then I saw (Q)thrones, and (R)seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw (S)the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those (T)who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. (U)They came to life and (V)reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. (W)Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such (X)the second death has no power, but they will be (Y)priests of God and of Christ, and they (Z)will reign with him for a thousand years.

The Defeat of Satan

And when the thousand years are ended, (AA)Satan will be released from his prison and will come out (AB)to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, (AC)Gog and Magog, (AD)to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And (AE)they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded (AF)the camp of the saints and (AG)the beloved city, but (AH)fire came down from heaven[c] and consumed them, 10 and the devil (AI)who had deceived them was (AJ)thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where (AK)the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
