Revelation 18:4-8
New Living Translation
4 Then I heard another voice calling from heaven,
“Come away from her, my people.
Do not take part in her sins,
or you will be punished with her.
5 For her sins are piled as high as heaven,
and God remembers her evil deeds.
6 Do to her as she has done to others.
Double her penalty[a] for all her evil deeds.
She brewed a cup of terror for others,
so brew twice as much[b] for her.
7 She glorified herself and lived in luxury,
so match it now with torment and sorrow.
She boasted in her heart,
‘I am queen on my throne.
I am no helpless widow,
and I have no reason to mourn.’
8 Therefore, these plagues will overtake her in a single day—
death and mourning and famine.
She will be completely consumed by fire,
for the Lord God who judges her is mighty.”
Revelation 18:4-8
New American Standard Bible
4 I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “(A)Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive any of her plagues; 5 for her sins have [a](B)piled up as high as heaven, and God has (C)remembered her offenses. 6 (D)Pay her back even as she has paid, and [b]give back to her double according to her deeds; in the (E)cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her. 7 (F)To the extent that she glorified herself and (G)lived luxuriously, to the same extent give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, ‘(H)I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.’ 8 For this reason (I)in one day her plagues will come, [c]plague and mourning and famine, and she will be (J)burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her (K)is strong.
