Reaping the Earth’s Harvest

14 Then I looked, and behold, a (A)white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one (B)like [a]a son of man, having a golden (C)crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. 15 And another angel (D)came out of the sanctuary, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sits on the cloud, “[b](E)Put in Your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the (F)harvest of the earth [c]is ripe.” 16 Then He who sits on the cloud [d]swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.

17 And another angel (G)came out of the sanctuary which is in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. 18 Then another angel, (H)the one who has authority over fire, came out from (I)the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “[e](J)Put in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters [f]from the vine of the earth, (K)because her grapes are ripe.” 19 So the angel [g]swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into (L)the great wine press of the wrath of God. 20 And (M)the wine press was trodden (N)outside the city, and (O)blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses’ bridles, [h]for a distance of [i]1,600 stadia.

The Harvest

14 Then I looked, and there was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man. He had a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 Another angel came out of the temple and cried with a loud voice to the one sitting on the cloud, “Swing your sickle and begin reaping, for the time to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is very ripe.” 16 And the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.

17 Another angel, who also had a sharp sickle, came out of the temple, which is in heaven. 18 And another angel, who was in charge of the fire, came from the altar and cried with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, “Swing your sharp sickle and harvest the grape clusters from the earth’s vine, because its grapes are ripe.” 19 Then the angel swung his sickle over the earth, and he harvested the earth’s vine and threw it into the great winepress of God’s wrath. 20 The winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress, as high as the horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.[a]
