⁷ Also it was allowed ^(A)to make war on the saints and to conquer them.^[a] And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation,

²¹ As I looked, this horn ^(A)made war with the saints and prevailed over them,

⁷ And when they have finished their testimony, ^(A)the beast that rises from ^(B)the bottomless pit^{[a] (C)}will make war on them and conquer them and kill them,

¹⁷ Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off ^(A)to make war on the rest of ^(B)her offspring, ^(C)on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to ^(D)the testimony of Jesus. And he stood^[a] on the sand of the sea.

The Time of the End

12 “At that time shall arise ^(A)Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And ^(B)there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, ^(C)everyone whose name shall be found written in the book.

²⁴ His power shall be great—^(A)but not by his own power; and he shall cause fearful destruction ^(B)and shall succeed in what he does, ^(C)and destroy mighty men and the people who are the saints. ^25 (D)By his cunning he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind ^(E)he shall become great. ^(F)Without warning he shall destroy many. And he ^(G)shall even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he shall be broken—but ^(H)by no human hand.

¹⁵ And the angel^[a] said to me, ^(A)“The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages.
