10 (A)If anyone [a]is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; (B)if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is (C)the perseverance and the faith of the saints.
The Beast from the Earth
11 Then (D)I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had (E)two horns like a lamb and he was speaking as a (F)dragon. 12 And he (G)exercises all the authority of the first beast [b](H)in his presence. And he makes (I)the earth and those who dwell in it to (J)worship the first beast, whose (K)fatal wound was healed.

10 “If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity they will go.
If anyone is to be killed[a] with the sword,
with the sword they will be killed.”[b](A)
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness(B) on the part of God’s people.(C)
The Beast out of the Earth
11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth.(D) It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon.(E) 12 It exercised all the authority(F) of the first beast on its behalf,(G) and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast,(H) whose fatal wound had been healed.(I)
