³ For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.^{(A) 4} The weapons we fight with^(B) are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power^(C) to demolish strongholds.^{(D) 5} We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God,^(E) and we take captive every thought to make it obedient^(F) to Christ.

³³ “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.^(A) In this world you will have trouble.^(B) But take heart! I have overcome^(C) the world.”

⁵ Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.^(A)

¹⁴ Since the children have flesh and blood,^(A) he too shared in their humanity^(B) so that by his death he might break the power^(C) of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil^(D)— ¹⁵ and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear^(E) of death.

⁵⁷ But thanks be to God!^(A) He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.^(B)

²⁰ The God of peace^(A) will soon crush^(B) Satan^(C) under your feet.

The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.^(D)

³³ Who will bring any charge^(A) against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. ³⁴ Who then is the one who condemns?^(B) No one. Christ Jesus who died^(C)—more than that, who was raised to life^(D)—is at the right hand of God^(E) and is also interceding for us.^{(F) 35} Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?^(G) Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?^{(H) 36} As it is written:

³⁷ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors^(J) through him who loved us.^{(K) 38} For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,^[b] neither the present nor the future,^(L) nor any powers,^{(M) 39} neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God^(N) that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.^(O)
