The Seventh Trumpet

15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet,(A) and there were loud voices(B) in heaven, which said:

“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,(C)
and he will reign for ever and ever.”(D)

16 And the twenty-four elders,(E) who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces(F) and worshiped God, 17 saying:

“We give thanks(G) to you, Lord God Almighty,(H)
the One who is and who was,(I)
because you have taken your great power
    and have begun to reign.(J)
18 The nations were angry,(K)
    and your wrath has come.
The time has come for judging the dead,(L)
and for rewarding your servants the prophets(M)
and your people who revere your name,
    both great and small(N)
and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”

19 Then God’s temple(O) in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant.(P) And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder,(Q) an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.(R)

The Woman and the Dragon

12 A great sign(S) appeared in heaven:(T) a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars(U) on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain(V) as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven:(W) an enormous red dragon(X) with seven heads(Y) and ten horns(Z) and seven crowns(AA) on its heads. Its tail swept a third(AB) of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth.(AC) The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child(AD) the moment he was born. She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”[a](AE) And her child was snatched up(AF) to God and to his throne. The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.(AG)
