Greeting the Seven Churches
4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia:
Grace to you and peace from Him (A)who is and (B)who was and who is to come, (C)and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, (D)the faithful (E)witness, the (F)firstborn from the dead, and (G)the ruler over the kings of the earth.
To Him (H)who [a]loved us (I)and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and has (J)made us [b]kings and priests to His God and Father, (K)to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
7 Behold, He is coming with (L)clouds, and every eye will see Him, even (M)they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
8 (N)“I am the Alpha and the Omega, [c]the Beginning and the End,” says the [d]Lord, (O)“who is and who was and who is to come, the (P)Almighty.”

Greetings and Doxology
4 John,
To the seven churches(A) in the province of Asia:
Grace and peace to you(B) from him who is, and who was, and who is to come,(C) and from the seven spirits[a](D) before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness,(E) the firstborn from the dead,(F) and the ruler of the kings of the earth.(G)
To him who loves us(H) and has freed us from our sins by his blood,(I) 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests(J) to serve his God and Father(K)—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.(L)
7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”[b](M)
and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;(N)
and all peoples on earth “will mourn(O) because of him.”[c]
So shall it be! Amen.
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,”(P) says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come,(Q) the Almighty.”(R)

4 Johannes an die sieben Gemeinden in Asien: Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von dem, der da ist und der da war und der da kommt, und von den sieben Geistern, die vor seinem Throne sind, 5 und von Jesus Christus, dem treuen Zeugen, dem Erstgeborenen von den Toten und dem Fürsten über die Könige der Erde.
Ihm, der uns liebt und uns durch sein Blut von unsren Sünden gewaschen[a] 6 und uns zu einem Königreich gemacht hat, zu Priestern für seinen Gott und Vater: ihm gehört die Herrlichkeit und die Macht in alle Ewigkeit! Amen.
7 Siehe, er kommt mit den Wolken, und jedes Auge wird ihn sehen, auch die, welche ihn durchstochen haben, und es werden sich seinetwegen an die Brust schlagen alle Geschlechter der Erde! Ja, Amen. 8 Ich bin das A und das O[b], spricht Gott der Herr, der da ist und der da war und der da kommt, der Allmächtige.
