Good News Translation
18 I am the living one! I was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever. I have authority over death and the world of the dead. 19 Write, then, the things you see, both the things that are now and the things that will happen afterward. 20 Here is the secret meaning of the seven stars that you see in my right hand, and of the seven gold lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

18 (A)I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, (B)I am alive forevermore. Amen. And (C)I have the keys of [a]Hades and of Death. 19 [b]Write the things which you have (D)seen, (E)and the things which are, (F)and the things which will take place after this. 20 The [c]mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are (G)the [d]angels of the seven churches, and (H)the seven lampstands [e]which you saw are the seven churches.
