The Scroll and the Lamb

5 Then I saw ^[a]in the right hand of Him who ^(A)sits on the throne a ^(B)scroll written inside and on the back, ^(C)sealed up with seven seals.

The Seven Seals

6 Then I looked when the ^(A)Lamb opened one of the ^(B)seven seals, and I heard one of the ^(C)four living creatures saying as with a ^(D)voice of thunder, “^[a]Come.”

³ And when He opened the second seal, I heard the ^(A)second living creature saying, “Come.”

⁵ And when He opened the third seal, I heard the ^(A)third living creature saying, “Come.” Then I looked, and behold, a ^(B)black horse; and he who sits on it had a ^(C)pair of scales in his hand.

⁷ And when He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the ^(A)fourth living creature saying, “Come.”

⁹ And when He opened the fifth seal, I saw ^(A)underneath the ^(B)altar the ^(C)souls of those who had been slain ^(D)because of the word of God, and because of the ^(E)witness which they had maintained;

¹² Then I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and there was a great ^(A)earthquake; and the ^(B)sun became black as ^(C)sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood;
