Revelation 3:14-21
New International Version
To the Church in Laodicea
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea(A) write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness,(B) the ruler of God’s creation.(C) 15 I know your deeds,(D) that you are neither cold nor hot.(E) I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’(F) But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.(G) 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire,(H) so you can become rich; and white clothes(I) to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness;(J) and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline.(K) So be earnest and repent.(L) 20 Here I am! I stand at the door(M) and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,(N) I will come in(O) and eat with that person, and they with me.
21 To the one who is victorious,(P) I will give the right to sit with me on my throne,(Q) just as I was victorious(R) and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Message to Laodicea
14 “To the angel of the church in (A)Laodicea write:
(B)The Amen, (C)the faithful and true Witness, (D)the [a]Origin of the creation of God, says this:
15 ‘(E)I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; (F)I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, “(G)I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,” and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked, 18 I advise you to (H)buy from Me (I)gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and (J)white garments so that you may clothe yourself and (K)the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to apply to your eyes so that you may see. 19 (L)Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and (M)repent. 20 Behold, I stand (N)at the door and (O)knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, (P)I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21 (Q)The one who overcomes, I will grant to him (R)to sit with Me on My throne, as (S)I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne.

The Letter to Laodicea
14 (A) This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Laodicea:
I am the one called Amen![a] I am the faithful and true witness and the source[b] of God's creation. Listen to what I say.
15 I know everything you have done, and you are not cold or hot. I wish you were either one or the other. 16 But since you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of my mouth. 17 You claim to be rich and successful and to have everything you need. But you don't know how bad off you really are. You are pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.
18 Buy your gold from me. It has been refined in a fire, and it will make you rich. Buy white clothes from me. Wear them and you can cover up your shameful nakedness. Buy medicine for your eyes, so you will be able to see.
19 (B) I correct and punish everyone I love. So make up your minds to turn away from your sins. 20 Listen! I am standing and knocking at your door. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and we will eat together. 21 Everyone who wins the victory will sit with me on my throne, just as I won the victory and sat with my Father on his throne.
