Revelation 18:7-11
English Standard Version
7 (A)As she glorified herself and lived in luxury,
so give her a like measure of torment and mourning,
since in her heart she says,
(B)‘I sit as a queen,
I am no widow,
and mourning I shall never see.’
8 For this reason her plagues will come (C)in a single day,
death and mourning and famine,
and (D)she will be burned up with fire;
for (E)mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”
9 And (F)the kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her, (G)will weep and wail over her (H)when they see the smoke of her burning. 10 (I)They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say,
“Alas! Alas! (J)You great city,
you mighty city, Babylon!
For (K)in a single hour your judgment has come.”
11 And (L)the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo anymore,

New International Version
7 Give her as much torment and grief
as the glory and luxury she gave herself.(A)
In her heart she boasts,
‘I sit enthroned as queen.
I am not a widow;[a]
I will never mourn.’(B)
8 Therefore in one day(C) her plagues will overtake her:
death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire,(D)
for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.
Threefold Woe Over Babylon’s Fall
9 “When the kings of the earth who committed adultery with her(E) and shared her luxury(F) see the smoke of her burning,(G) they will weep and mourn over her.(H) 10 Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off(I) and cry:
11 “The merchants(L) of the earth will weep and mourn(M) over her because no one buys their cargoes anymore(N)—
