8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, (A)whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain (B)from the foundation of the world.
9 (C)If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 (D)He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; (E)he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. (F)Here is the [a]patience and the faith of the saints.
The Beast from the Earth
11 Then I saw another beast (G)coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, (H)whose deadly wound was healed. 13 (I)He performs great signs, (J)so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 (K)And he deceives [b]those who dwell on the earth (L)by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword (M)and lived.

8 All inhabitants of the earth(A) will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life,(B) the Lamb(C) who was slain from the creation of the world.[a](D)
9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.(E)
10 “If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity they will go.
If anyone is to be killed[b] with the sword,
with the sword they will be killed.”[c](F)
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness(G) on the part of God’s people.(H)
The Beast out of the Earth
11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth.(I) It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon.(J) 12 It exercised all the authority(K) of the first beast on its behalf,(L) and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast,(M) whose fatal wound had been healed.(N) 13 And it performed great signs,(O) even causing fire to come down from heaven(P) to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs(Q) it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived(R) the inhabitants of the earth.(S) It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.(T)
