Then the voice I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the opened scroll from the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.” So I went to the angel and told him to give me the scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. It will make you sick to your stomach, but sweet as honey in your mouth.” 10 So I took the scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. And it was sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I swallowed it, it made my stomach churn. 11 I was told, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”

65 You have treated your servant well,
    Lord, according to your promise.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment
    because I’ve put my trust in your commandments.
67 Before I suffered, I took the wrong way,
    but now I do what you say.
68 You are good and you do good.
    Teach me your statutes!
69 The arrogant cover me with their lies,
    but I guard your precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are unfeeling, like blubber,
    but I rejoice in your Instruction.
71 My suffering was good for me,
    because through it I learned your statutes.
72 The Instruction you’ve given to me is better
    than thousands of pieces of gold and silver!

Jesus clears the temple

45 When Jesus entered the temple, he threw out those who were selling things there. 46 He said to them, “It’s written, My house will be a house of prayer, but you have made it a hideout for crooks.”[a]

47 Jesus was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests, the legal experts, and the foremost leaders among the people were seeking to kill him. 48 However, they couldn’t find a way to do it because all the people were enthralled with what they heard.
