¹⁴ It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels^(A) who are bound at the great river Euphrates.”^(B)

¹² The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates,^(A) and its water was dried up to prepare the way^(B) for the kings from the East.^(C)

¹⁵ And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released^(A) to kill a third^(B) of mankind.^(C)

⁶³ When you finish reading this scroll, tie a stone to it and throw it into the Euphrates.^(A)

³ Moreover, David defeated Hadadezer^(A) son of Rehob, king of Zobah,^(B) when he went to restore his monument at^[a] the Euphrates^(C) River.

¹⁴ The name of the third river is the Tigris;^(A) it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.^(B)

The Trumpets

⁶ Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets^(A) prepared to sound them.

7 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners^(A) of the earth, holding back the four winds^(B) of the earth to prevent^(C) any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree.

² And I saw the seven angels^(A) who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.^(B)
