⁸ Each of the four living creatures^(A) had six wings^(B) and was covered with eyes all around,^(C) even under its wings. Day and night^(D) they never stop saying:

² Above him were seraphim,^(A) each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet,^(B) and with two they were flying. ³ And they were calling to one another:

⁴ At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.^(G)

⁵ “Woe^(H) to me!” I cried. “I am ruined!^(I) For I am a man of unclean lips,^(J) and I live among a people of unclean lips,^(K) and my eyes have seen^(L) the King,^(M) the Lord Almighty.”^(N)

⁶ Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal^(O) in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. ⁷ With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips;^(P) your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.^(Q)”

⁸ Then I heard the voice^(R) of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send?^(S) And who will go for us?^(T)”

And I said, “Here am I.^(U) Send me!”

⁹ He said, “Go^(V) and tell this people:

¹¹ Then I said, “For how long, Lord?”^(AB)

And he answered:

⁶ Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass,^(A) clear as crystal.

In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures,^(B) and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back.^(C)

⁸ “I am the Alpha and the Omega,”^(A) says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come,^(B) the Almighty.”^(C)

⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.^(A)

²¹ Each had four faces^(A) and four wings,^(B) and under their wings was what looked like human hands. ²² Their faces had the same appearance as those I had seen by the Kebar River.^(C) Each one went straight ahead.

Psalm 91

¹⁵ Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword^(A) with which to strike down^(B) the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”^[a](C) He treads the winepress^(D) of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
