² At once I was in the Spirit,^(A) and there before me was a throne in heaven^(B) with someone sitting on it.

¹⁰ On the Lord’s Day^(A) I was in the Spirit,^(B) and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,^(C)

¹⁹ Micaiah continued, “Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne^(A) with all the multitudes^(B) of heaven standing around him on his right and on his left.

Isaiah’s Commission

6 In the year that King Uzziah^(A) died,^(B) I saw the Lord,^(C) high and exalted,^(D) seated on a throne;^(E) and the train of his robe^(F) filled the temple.

⁹ Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne^(A) and who lives for ever and ever,^(B)

¹² Then the Spirit lifted me up,^(A) and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound as the glory of the Lord rose from the place where it was standing.^{[a] 13} It was the sound of the wings of the living creatures^(B) brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound.^{(C) 14} The Spirit^(D) then lifted me up^(E) and took me away, and I went in bitterness and in the anger of my spirit, with the strong hand of the Lord^(F) on me.

²⁶ Above the vault over their heads was what looked like a throne^(A) of lapis lazuli,^(B) and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man.^(C)

The Scroll and the Lamb

5 Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne^(A) a scroll with writing on both sides^(B) and sealed^(C) with seven seals.

⁵ From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder.^(A) In front of the throne, seven lamps^(B) were blazing. These are the seven spirits^[a](C) of God.
