^5 (A)There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor ^(B)light of the sun, for ^(C)the Lord God gives them light. ^(D)And they shall reign forever and ever.

⁴ And I saw ^(A)thrones, and they sat on them, and ^(B)judgment was committed to them. Then I saw ^(C)the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, ^(D)who had not worshiped the beast ^(E)or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they ^(F)lived and ^(G)reigned with Christ for ^[a]a thousand years.

¹⁸ But ^(A)the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.’

^3 (A)Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who ^(B)according to His abundant mercy ^(C)has begotten us again to a living hope ^(D)through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, ⁴ to an inheritance ^[a]incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, ^(E)reserved in heaven for you,

¹⁷ For if by the one man’s ^[a]offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

The Glory of the New Jerusalem

^22 (A)But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. ^23 (B)The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine ^[a]in it, for the ^[b]glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. ^24 (C)And the nations ^[c]of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor ^[d]into it. ^25 (D)Its gates shall not be shut at all by day ^(E)(there shall be no night there).
