³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them.^(A) They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.^(B)

²⁷ My dwelling place^(A) will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.^(B)

¹⁶ What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?^(A) For we are the temple^(B) of the living God.^(C) As God has said:

¹¹ I will put my dwelling place^[a](A) among you, and I will not abhor you.^{(B) 12} I will walk^(C) among you and be your God,^(D) and you will be my people.^(E)

²³ Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.^(A) My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.^(B)

⁸ I will bring them back^(A) to live^(B) in Jerusalem; they will be my people,^(C) and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God.^(D)”

¹⁶ Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one.^(A) Therefore God is not ashamed^(B) to be called their God,^(C) for he has prepared a city^(D) for them.
