¹⁵ And he who talked with me ^(A)had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.

The Two Witnesses

11 Then I was given ^(A)a reed like a measuring rod. ^[a]And the angel stood, saying, ^(B)“Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. ² But leave out ^(C)the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, ^(D)for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will ^(E)tread the holy city underfoot for ^(F)forty-two months.

Vision of the Measuring Line

2 Then I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, ^(A)a man with a measuring line in his hand.

Dimensions of the Sanctuary

41 Then he ^(A)brought me into the ^[a]sanctuary and measured the doorposts, six cubits wide on one side and six cubits wide on the other side—the width of the tabernacle. ² The width of the entryway was ten cubits, and the side walls of the entrance were five cubits on this side and five cubits on the other side; and he measured its length, forty cubits, and its width, twenty cubits.

³ Also he went inside and measured the doorposts, two cubits; and the entrance, six cubits high; and the width of the entrance, seven cubits. ^4 (B)He measured the length, twenty cubits; and the width, twenty cubits, beyond the sanctuary; and he said to me, “This is the Most Holy Place.”

The Side Chambers on the Wall

⁵ Next, he measured the wall of the ^[b]temple, six cubits. The width of each side chamber all around the temple was four cubits on every side.

^3 (A)You shall put in it the ark of the Testimony, and ^[a]partition off the ark with the veil. ^4 (B)You shall bring in the table and ^(C)arrange the things that are to be set in order on it; ^(D)and you shall bring in the lampstand and ^[b]light its lamps. ^5 (E)You shall also set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the Testimony, and put up the screen for the door of the tabernacle.
