²¹ I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.^[a](A)

⁹ The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you,^[a] not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.^(A)

²⁰ The rest of humankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands or give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk.^{(A) 21} And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their prostitution or their thefts.

⁴ Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? ²⁰ who in former times did not obey, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight lives, were saved through water.^(A)
