¹⁸ And the woman whom you saw ^(A)is that great city ^(B)which reigns over the kings of the earth.”

¹⁹ Now ^(A)the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And ^(B)great Babylon ^(C)was remembered before God, ^(D)to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

² And he cried ^[a]mightily with a loud voice, saying, ^(A)“Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and ^(B)has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and ^(C)a cage for every unclean and hated bird!

²³ “Thus he said:

⁴⁰ And ^(A)the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. ⁴¹ Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay.

^4 (A)His tail drew a third ^(B)of the stars of heaven ^(C)and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood ^(D)before the woman who was ready to give birth, ^(E)to devour her Child as soon as it was born.
