¹⁶ And ^(A)the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast ^(B)will hate the prostitute. They will make her ^(C)desolate and ^(D)naked, and ^(E)devour her flesh and ^(F)burn her up with fire,

⁹ And the daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by whoring, profanes her father; ^(A)she shall be burned with fire.

³⁷ therefore, behold, ^(A)I will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved and ^(B)all those you hated. ^(C)I will gather them against you from every side ^(D)and will uncover your nakedness to them, that ^(E)they may see all your nakedness. ^38 (F)And I will judge you ^(G)as women who commit adultery and ^(H)shed blood are judged, and bring upon you the blood of wrath and jealousy. ³⁹ And I will give you into their hands, and they shall throw down your ^(I)vaulted chamber and break down ^(J)your lofty places. ^(K)They shall strip you of your clothes and take ^(L)your beautiful jewels and leave you ^(M)naked and bare. ^40 (N)They shall bring up a crowd against you, ^(O)and they shall stone you and cut you to pieces with their swords. ^41 (P)And they shall ^(Q)burn your houses and ^(R)execute judgments upon you in the sight of many women. ^(S)I will make you stop playing the whore, and ^(T)you shall also give payment no more. ^42 (U)So will I satisfy my wrath on you, and my jealousy shall depart from you. I will be calm and will no more be angry. ⁴³ Because you have not remembered ^(V)the days of your youth, but have enraged me with all these things, therefore, behold, ^(W)I have returned your deeds upon your head, declares the Lord God. Have you not ^(X)committed lewdness in addition to all your abominations?

⁴⁴ “Behold, everyone ^(Y)who uses proverbs will use this proverb about you: ‘Like mother, like daughter.’

And ^(D)all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off

17 Then ^(A)one of the seven angels who had ^(B)the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of ^(C)the great prostitute ^(D)who is seated on many waters, ^2 (E)with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and ^(F)with the wine of whose sexual immorality ^(G)the dwellers on earth have become drunk.”

¹⁹ And they threw ^(A)dust on their heads as they wept and mourned, crying out,

⁴⁵ But righteous men ^(A)shall pass judgment on them with the sentence of adulteresses, and with the sentence of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and blood is on their hands.”

⁴⁶ For thus says the Lord God: ^(B)“Bring up a vast host against them, and make them ^(C)an object of terror and ^(D)a plunder. ^47 (E)And the host shall stone them and cut them down with their swords. ^(F)They shall kill their sons and their daughters, and ^(G)burn up their houses. ^48 (H)Thus will I put an end to lewdness in the land, that all women may take warning and not commit lewdness as you have done. ⁴⁹ And they shall return your lewdness upon you, and ^(I)you shall bear the penalty for your sinful idolatry, and ^(J)you shall know that I am the Lord God.”
