¹⁶ And the ten horns which you ^[a]saw on the beast, ^(A)these will hate the harlot, make her ^(B)desolate ^(C)and naked, eat her flesh and ^(D)burn her with fire.

⁸ Therefore her plagues will come ^(A)in one day—death and mourning and famine. And ^(B)she will be utterly burned with fire, ^(C)for strong is the Lord God who ^[a]judges her.

⁹ The daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the harlot, she profanes her father. She shall be ^(A)burned with fire.

³⁷ surely, therefore, ^(A)I will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved, and all those you hated; I will gather them from all around against you and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness. ³⁸ And I will judge you as ^(B)women who break wedlock or ^(C)shed blood are judged; I will bring blood upon you in fury and jealousy. ³⁹ I will also give you into their hand, and they shall throw down your shrines and break down ^(D)your ^[a]high places. ^(E)They shall also strip you of your clothes, take your beautiful jewelry, and leave you naked and bare.

^40 (F)“They shall also bring up an assembly against you, ^(G)and they shall stone you with stones and thrust you through with their swords. ⁴¹ They shall ^(H)burn your houses with fire, and ^(I)execute judgments on you in the sight of many women; and I will make you ^(J)cease playing the harlot, and you shall no longer hire lovers. ⁴² So ^(K)I will lay to rest My fury toward you, and My jealousy shall depart from you. I will be quiet, and be angry no more. ⁴³ Because ^(L)you did not remember the days of your youth, but ^[b]agitated Me with all these things, surely ^(M)I will also recompense your ^[c]deeds on your own head,” says the Lord God. “And you shall not commit lewdness in addition to all your abominations.

17 Then ^(A)one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying ^[a]to me, “Come, ^(B)I will show you the judgment of ^(C)the great harlot ^(D)who sits on many waters, ^2 (E)with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and ^(F)the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
