⁹ They were scorched by the fierce heat, and ^(A)they cursed^[a] the name of God who had power over these plagues. ^(B)They did not repent ^(C)and give him glory.

²¹ And ^(A)great hailstones, about one hundred pounds^[a] each, fell from heaven on people; and ^(B)they cursed God for ^(C)the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe.

¹³ And at that hour there was ^(A)a great earthquake, and ^(B)a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and ^(C)gave glory to ^(D)the God of heaven.

²¹ I gave her time to repent, but ^(A)she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.

¹⁰ The fifth angel poured out his bowl on ^(A)the throne of the beast, and ^(B)its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish ¹¹ and cursed ^(C)the God of heaven for their pain and ^(D)sores. ^(E)They did not repent of their deeds.

And ^(D)the vessels of his house have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. ^(E)And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, ^(F)but the God in whose hand is your breath, and ^(G)whose are all your ways, ^(H)you have not honored.
