¹¹ and cursed^(A) the God of heaven^(B) because of their pains and their sores,^(C) but they refused to repent of what they had done.^(D)

⁹ They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God,^(A) who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent^(B) and glorify him.^(C)

²¹ From the sky huge hailstones,^(A) each weighing about a hundred pounds,^[a] fell on people. And they cursed God^(B) on account of the plague of hail,^(C) because the plague was so terrible.

² The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land,^(A) and ugly, festering sores^(B) broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.^(C)

¹³ At that very hour there was a severe earthquake^(A) and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory^(B) to the God of heaven.^(C)

¹³ while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse,^(A) deceiving and being deceived.^(B)

¹⁸ He urged them to plead for mercy^(A) from the God of heaven^(B) concerning this mystery,^(C) so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. ¹⁹ During the night the mystery^(D) was revealed to Daniel in a vision.^(E) Then Daniel praised the God of heaven^(F)
